Biography

I received my B.S. from Princeton University, in Astrophysical Sciences, in 1988, and obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle, in Astrophysics, in 1995. I then held two postdoctoral positions, at the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge, UK, and at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. I started as an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2000, and was later promoted to Professor in 2014.

I enjoy tent camping in State and National Parks, bicycling, and swimming in Minnesota lakes.
